Kimberly is the firm’s founding attorney and came to the practice of law after years of service to the senior community, including serving as the manager of assisted living facilities and as a volunteer ombudsman reporting on the care of nursing home residents in DuPage County.
Since becoming an attorney, Kimberly has served as a Guardian Ad Litem in adult guardianships cases, and as the Chair, Vice Chair, and Past Chair of the DuPage County Bar Association’s Elder Law Section. She has successfully obtained guardian status for her clients and has litigated both adult and child guardianship cases. She is a staunch advocate for the best interests of the minor or disabled person. Kimberly is also accredited to represent clients before the Veteran’s Administration in seeking benefits for veterans.
Kimberly served on the board of directors of a non-profit animal rescue and is rarely without a foster dog or two residing with her until they are adopted. She has formed and obtained 501c3 tax exempt status for numerous non-profit corporations and advises them on compliance matters.
As an attorney as well as a real estate title agent, Kimberly assists sellers and home buyers in completing their real estate transactions as seamlessly as possible.
Kimberly understands the importance, when the time comes, of family members knowing their loved ones’ wishes for the distribution or preservation of the assets that have been hard-won and valued during their lives. That is why her estate planning clients receive one-on-one attention to help make the process of creating a will, trust, powers of attorney, and other needed documents simple, less daunting, and reflective of their wishes. She advises her clients as to the most efficient and cost-effective plan for them and, when their estate plans are completed and in their hands, her clients feel peace of mind knowing that their wishes have been expressed and will be followed.
Finally, when the difficult time arrives to handle the affairs of a loved one who has passed away, Kimberly is sensitive to her clients’ needs and grief, and her warm and caring manner brings comfort to families as she guides them through the process of estate or trust administration.
